The set everyone's been circling on the 2026 calendar finally got its official reveal, and it's shaping up to be the release of the year. Here's a straight rundown of what's been confirmed so far — and how we'd think about it as collectors.
When it lands
The 30th Celebration set is set to release worldwide on Wednesday, September 16th. That worldwide-same-day launch is itself a first for the Pokémon TCG, so there won't be the usual Japan-then-everyone-else gap to play. A 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set: Espeon & Umbreon is slated for the same day, with more product expected to follow through the rest of the year. Dates this far out can still shift, so treat September 16th as the target rather than a promise.
What's actually in the packs
This is where the set gets interesting. Every card in the set is foil, and each booster pack holds six cards: five foils plus one foil Basic Energy. English packs also include a Pokémon TCG Live code card.
A few things make it stand out from a normal expansion:
- A Pikachu in every pack. There are 30 different Pikachu cards, each illustrated by a different artist, with their own set numbering so you know which of the 30 you pulled.
- 30 classic reprints. Like Celebrations back in 2021, the set brings back 30 classic Pokémon cards from across the game's history, each with a "30" Pikachu stamp and special foil treatment. Note: these classic cards are not legal for tournament play.
- A brand-new rarity. "Futuristic Rare" debuts here, with vibrant artwork by renowned Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. The full set is expected to land around 150 cards after secret rares.

For reference, the Japanese version is priced higher than a typical set — roughly 360 yen per pack versus the usual 200 — which fits an all-foil, premium product. English pricing hadn't been confirmed at the time of writing.

Anniversary product has a track record of heavy demand and tight allocation, and an all-foil set with a guaranteed Pikachu in every pack is exactly the kind of thing that moves fast and gets hunted on the secondary market.
